M&C is a family run business located in Forres, run by Peter and Heather Wilson and their son Ali.
The garden centre which also boasts homeware, clothing, pet and gift departments as well as an extensive garden living area and award winning coffee shop, is housed in a former disused call centre which Heather and Peter purchased in 2003.
Following two prominent extensions, the latest being in 2023, during the company’s 20th year celebrations, the former call centre offices are now unrecognisable.
The first extension took place in 2017 with the addition of the half a million-pound glass structure. The development was officially opened by Beechgrove Garden presenter Carole Baxter who is a regular visitor to M&C.
The glass extension encompasses a plant market, pet zone, area for garden accessories and space for compost and pots. In the winter months, the area is transformed into a winter wonderland which has become a destination to visit in its own right.
In 2023, another M&C expanded again with a £750,000 eco-friendly extension which has given more retail space for outdoor living and gardening products. The 500msq extension boasts solar panels, air source and under floor heating.
M&C holds a host of awards. In 2022, it was crowned SME of the Year at the Moray Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards and in 2023, it scooped the award for Corporate Social Responsibility also awarded by the Chamber.
